The Brazilian National Petroleum Corporation intends to launch two tenders next year to lease several floating production, storage and unloading tankers (FPSO) for deepwater discoveries in the Itapu subsalt oilfield and the Sergipe-Alagoas basin.

Hugo Repsold, manager of Brazilian National Oil Production Development and Technology, said the company was already planning the two tenders, with each FPSO reportedly capable of handling 100,000 to 120,000 barrels per day of oil.

It is reported that Brazilian National Oil will bid for four FPSOs at the same time next year. The company told that it intends to bid for Mero-3 and Mero-4 FPSO in mid-2019.
